Community development

As a Vacaville resident who was born and raised here, and who is deeply rooted in this community, I feel it's my duty to help shape what this city becomes. Vacaville still carries the roots of an agricultural town, like a lot of Northern California towns that have grown into full cities, and we're in the middle of that transformation right now, becoming a thriving suburban city and inheriting both the good and the challenging parts that come with growth.

My goal is to foster positive relationships across this community while we celebrate the small town heritage that makes Vacaville feel like home, even as we grow into our future. I believe smart community engagement, local activities, and celebrations can weave our rich small town heritage together with the growth that's already underway.

Part of doing that well is being intentional about the kind of growth we attract. I want Vacaville to bring in large employers who create real career paths for our residents, not just more rooftops. Our roots in agriculture and our proximity to Travis Air Force Base give us a natural head start in ag tech, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and biotech, industries that build on who Vacaville already is instead of erasing it. Supporting and enhancing Travis Air Force Base as an economic anchor, and making it easier for these kinds of businesses to open, expand, and hire here, is how we grow into a city with more opportunity without losing the small town feel that brought so many of us here in the first place.
